Down East Buoys

This original Quilts N More design celebrates Down East Maine through nine buoy-shaped blocks, each featuring iconic regional motifs. The buoys showcase fabrics depicting moose, lobsters, wild blueberries, rocky coastlines, bears, and pine trees, with a lighthouse centered in the middle block. Each buoy is appliquéd against a cream background with a black spindle extending below. The blocks are separated by soft blue sashing and framed with a coordinating blue border. Created using raw edge appliqué technique. The backing features tan fabric with fly fishing motifs. This wall hanging pays homage to the lobsterfishing heritage of Down East Maine, where generations of fishermen and women have worked the coast.
