At Quilts N More, we believe in the power of handmade. Whatever the project, we’re committed to delivering quality quilts that will be cherished for years to come.

Helping You Connect with Old Memories and Create New Ones

About quilts n more

Faye Hodgkins learned to sew on a treadle sewing machine as a teenager. However, quilting didn’t become a significant part of her life until much later. Today, with over 25 years of experience in quilt making, Faye continues to hone her craft from her cozy studio in Steuben, where she has been known to turn out a new quilt in a week, balancing her own quilt designs with quilting for others and even teaching private classes.

For Faye, quilting is more than just piecing together fabric—it’s about creating memories. Every quilt she makes, whether it’s a custom commission or a long-arm finish for a client, carries the love and attention to detail that transforms it from a blanket into a family treasure.

Faye Hodgkins

“I want my quilts to be used and loved, not stored away in a closet. They’re meant for snuggling up with, spilling your coffee on, and making memories with your loved ones.”

Marion Green, affectionately known as Mel, was taught to sew by her Aunt Adeline. Her skill in sewing was evident early on—so much so that her high school sewing teacher gave her a free pass to create whatever she wanted, confident in Mel’s proficiency.

While she took up quilting later in life, Mel has now been crafting beautiful quilts for over 20 years. Whether it’s for family, friends, or the shop, Mel’s passion and creativity shine through in each of her designs.

Specializing in both edge-to-edge (E2E) and custom quilting, our long-arm services turn unfinished tops into completed treasures.

long-arm quilting expertise

Faye has been quilting for more than 25 years, and Mel is approaching the two-decade mark. Together, they bring that expertise into every piece they make or finish.

Quilts N More officially expanded in 2012 when Faye decided to turn her love for quilting into a business. After years of making quilts for her own pleasure and operating a craft and fabric store in Milbridge, Maine, Faye transitioned into professional long-arm quilting. Having taken numerous classes at national quilt shows from award-winning teachers, she gained the confidence to offer her long-arm quilting services to others.

Quilts N More was born out of a desire to share that passion for quilting with the world—whether it’s through custom-made quilts, long-arm quilting services, or ready-made pieces. Together, Faye and Mel continue their journey, crafting quilts that bring warmth, joy, and a personal touch to homes across the country.

The Journey of Quilts N More

our studio story

Steuben isn’t just where our studio is located—it’s a key part of who we are. Located along Maine’s rugged, rockbound coast, this small town fosters a deep sense of independence, tradition, and craftsmanship. Here, we don’t just make quilts; we weave the values of community, self-reliance, and creativity into each piece. From our local studio, we aim to share the beauty of Maine with clients near and far.
